15 Week Update

Well, I'm officially 15 weeks along!

How am I feeling? I've been more tired this past week/weekend which kind of stinks! Since I have OCD about keeping my house in order, it's hard for me to relax without having a guilty conscience. But, I am taking it easy since sometimes I'm just too tired to fight it. I hit the gym three times last week so I'm grateful for that!

Any new changes this week? It seems that my heartburn has officially kicked in! Yay for me! Thankfully milk extinguishes some of the burn. Other than that, I really haven't noticed any new changes.

Weight gain? I believe I'm a pound up from last week but still a couple pounds down from when I got pregnant. My appetite has definitely picked up since the nausea has subsided so the weight gain will definitely keep coming. Obvious statement since there's a growing baby inside of me!

On to other events, as we watched Brunch at Bobby's on the Cooking Channel yesterday & I began to completely crave biscuits & gravy so that's what we whipped up for breakfast this morning. Who knew homemade gravy could be so very easy?

Cam seemed to enjoy his breakfast! It's all a facade though since he didn't touch his biscuit, we didn't bother even giving him gravy since it was really peppery & he'd say, Too spicy! and we tricked him into eating half of his eggs. Ah the joys of feeding a picky toddler! Many times we have to chant, Buzz bite! Buzz bite! in order to get him to eat. Yes, it's in honor of Buzz Lightyear who you can see on his pajamas. Who knew we would be reduced to this?

And as I came into the kitchen to have some lunch this afternoon, I found these two snuggle bugs taking a nap together!

Animal Planet

Some weekends & evenings can get quite chaotic around here since we're living under one roof with a 15-month old baby boy, a black Pug, a three pound Chihuahua & two cats!

Since Cameron has come to the realization that he can get lots of attention from the dogs by waving food in their faces, it has become quite a game for him! Our Pug, Dempsey has seriously grown to adore Cameron since he is the source of much of her snacks & treats. Just this weekend Cam chucked a quarter of his turkey sandwich on the ground & Demps was one happy dog! Not ten minutes later, I noticed a huge, yellow stain of cat puke on our bedroom floor with cheese visible in the mess. Yep, Casper got a nice treat from Cam as well! Unfortunately for our rug, the cheese didn't sit very well.

This morning Cameron was playing in the family room as I got ready for work. When things got a bit too quiet, I checked on him & found him in the kitchen, pulling the dog bed out from under a once comfortable Chihuahua named Stella. And last week as Cam slept & we ate dinner in the kitchen, Mike heard a "meow" over the baby monitor! When I quietly opened Cam's bedroom door, I didn't see or hear a cat within the darkness, so I left his room. Halfway back to the kitchen, I confirmed that the "meow" was indeed coming from his bedroom. Where did I find Casper? Meowing & curled up next to an oblivious, sleeping baby!

Some days I'm at my wits end with the lot & feel tired of hearing myself say, "no, Cameron, do not put your toys into the pet's water dish!" "No, Dempsey, quit licking his face!" "Cameron, leave Stella alone, she's sleeping & doesn't want to be bothered!" "Casper, get out of his crib!" It seems that our cat KC is the one left out here; seems he is the most behaved!

But, as much as they tend to drive me up a wall, I do love them very much; they bring our family so much happiness & always keep things interesting. I guess they've realized I'm bluffing by now when I yet again threaten to leave them at the curb for garbage pickup!

KC doesn't want to be bothered unless he's ready for some lovin'. Then we call him SS KC Boy aka The Serial Snuggler!

Cam loves laying his head on Casper's back for hugs & saying, "Awww!"

And here's the food hound, Dempsey. Cameron is her best friend... mostly during mealtime!

It's the little princess, Stella. Don't mess with her when she's sleeping or things can get ugly!

And here's the leader of the four-ringed circus, folks! It's Cam, just lounging in the dog bed with a nice sippy-cup of juice. A standard Saturday morning in our nutty household!

Brotherly/Sisterly Love

Stella is always trying to sidle up to Casper to get some of the kitty lickings she lives for. It's so funny to watch her prance up to him & bow her head in hopes that he'll give her a nice bath. We usually joke by saying, "how many licks till he gets to the bite?" since Casper will usually commence his licking sessions with some playful nips.

And her wish was granted Monday evening as Casper licked away! We have such odd pets!

Happy 6th Birthday!

Our little girl, Dempsey turned 6 on August 5th so we had a bit of a celebration with some Frosty Paws ice cream which she loves. Demps is the sweetest, little Pug in the world, but God forbid you try to take away her ice cream, she will growl!

Happy 6th Birthday, Puggy, we love you!

What makes you happy?

I've been "tagged" by Lauren and here are the rules:
1. Mention and link back to the person that tagged you.
2. List 6 little things that make you happy!

3. Tag 6 other bloggers and let them know "They're it".

Here are just a
few of the many things in my life that make me happy.

1) My hubby, Mike makes me happy! Mike is the only person that can make me laugh hysterically when I had just been crying hysterically. He knows EXACTLY what to say to get me going. Mike is also the logic & reasoning in my life since I tend to be very high strung & anxious. AND he is the most amazing father to Cameron that I could ever design!

2) Cameron makes me happy! That baby boy amazes me every single day; he seems to have a new trick up his sleeve each time I turn around. I never knew such love until I met the little person who grew in my belly & I thank God for him each day.

3) My family makes me happy. I feel so blessed to have been raised by a loving family! Or should I say crazy family b/c that, we definitely are. I'm thankful that Cameron has both sets of grandparents to love & all of his aunts & uncles and I'm lucky to have such wonderful "in-laws" who I consider my true family.

4) My friends make me happy. Friends are the best b/c they stay with you by choice & become as close as family. I love my friends & I would be lost without them! Each friend has something different & unique to offer & I appreciate each of them for that. Moving to FL was one of the hardest things I have ever done, but the friends we have made since moving has made me feel that this is truly home. But, I still miss the place that will always be home in my heart, & that's IL. I can't wait to see all of my wonderful friends from Chicago when we go back to visit in December!

5) My zoo makes me happy. I'm speaking of the furry rodents, aka, dogs & cats that live under my roof. They show me affection & love even when I don't deserve it. Love you, Dempsey, Stella, KC & Casper. And even my fish, Princess Sparkles!

Stella the stinkin Cheech!

KC Boy aka serial snuggler!

Casper aka, one bad ass, mo-fo!

It's Princess Sparkles!

6) My work makes me happy. I worked very hard to become a registered dietitian & I am thankful that I did. Caring and educating patients on a daily basis is rewarding; it's great to put someone at ease when they are in a very vulnerable state.

I could go on & on about the things that make me happy, but I'll leave at 6. What are the things that make you happy?

Tag, you're it!

1) Mike
2) Cameron
