Oh, My Aching Back!

This week has been exceptionally busy! In addition to the usual working, taking care of Cam, laundry, cooking, etc, I decided I wanted to power wash the patio, steam clean the carpets & get a couple of new plants for our patio.

Yesterday I rushed home from work so I could get a jump on steam cleaning the carpet before the boys got home. I was so pleased with the results; it was awesome to see it almost-like-new again. As we watched Cloudy with a Chance of Meatballs after Cam went to bed, I said to Mike, Hmm, wonder how long this rug will stay clean before one of our cats decide to puke on it?

Well, that question was answered this morning when I was getting ready for work & Mike came into the bathroom with a questionable look on his face, saying, Okay, this can be something we both laugh about...

I immediately said, Did the cats puke?? And he replied, Yes! But, that's not the bad part... As soon as I got Demps out of her cage, she started having diarrhea! Well, I found nothing funny about this & immediately burst into tears. Yes, it was a dramatic reaction but I was still waking up, still tired & just hoping that our carpet would have stayed nice for at least 24 hours. Silly me & my wishful thinking. And the oddest part is that Dempsey NEVER has diarrhea! What are the odds? But luckily Mike did a good job of cleaning up the mess & I didn't even notice it when I got home.

And today after work, I came home to mow the lawn, trim the bushes & pot our new plants in the unbearable heat.

Although I am exhausted after my many projects, it's so refreshing to come home to a spruced up house & yard.

And I was even able to muster up that laugh that Mike was hoping for about the carpet mishap from this morning.

I often say to myself as I bustle around, The fun just never ends around this house!

  3. Oh yes, it's a great feeling to get things done! Lesli, I feel your pain... I love my pets to bits but sometimes they are such pains in the butts! The madness never ends with them. And oddly enough, it's our fattest cat that pukes the most!
